Jan 14, 2018 - How to Install AHCI Drivers in Windows 7 After Setup. ASUS EEE 1005HA netbook; Windows 7 Ultimate SP1; 64GB Apacer Pro II (AS-202).
I just tried to install this update and for the first time ever my Windows 7 (64) setup wouldn't boot and I had to repair to a restore point. Tried many times and it is this driver is teh culprit for locking up the system. I would recommend anybody NOT to install this, at least not on a Thinkpad X1 where I got this problem. I couldn't contact Lenovo on this for further comment (how can I report a driver issue? Anybody knows??), so I don't know if this is a generalized issue, but if you notice updating to this driver breaks your setup, please report it or post here to draw attention to the issue. Thought this might help anybody else who has the same issue. I use TVSU for updating drivers and it has listed this one under the recommended tab, however when reading through the file it only shows 7 models under Windows 7 Support that this driver should be installed on and with a caution further down that states 'this package should not be installed on any system other than Support models for Windows 7'.
So based on every body else's experience here I'll be giving this update a miss. It does beg the question though that if your laptop model is not listed for this driver then why is it showing up as a recommend install? Can anyone form Lenovo comment on this? For those interested here is a list of the supported models T440, T440p, T440s, T540p, X240, X240s & W540 As for me I use a T530, OS Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit Hope this helps.
Please try Moy's on high street asrocs from the new OSU union and next to Buckeye Doughnuts. It has been there for decades and is top notch. Although it is sooo VIP it does not have a sign. Again it is in the Buckeye Doughnuts building. The establishment is run by an adorable Asian couple that remembers all of their customers and deliver top notch service.(614) 24 N High StColumbus, OH 43201BEST ASIAN IN THE CITY!
